About a week before Elyse and Chris’ wedding just outside of Philadelphia, as I do with all my clients, I contacted regarding the massive hurricane moving up the East coast. While the south was evacuating, I assured them that I was not only prepared, but excited about the change we might have a little drizzle on their wedding day. These kinds of “upsets” usually make for the best memories, so Elyse bought clear umbrellas for her bridal party, I made sure I had my camera jackets and a classy raincoat, and we were ready. When the wedding day came, we braved the rain and stormed the streets of Philly. As far as I am concerned, Alanis Morissette had it all wrong…rain on your wedding day is definitely not ironic. Weather happens in the East in October, and these two proved just how stunning it can be.
I started the day with them at 8am, so I will be separating this post into two. Here is their preparation at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown followed by formals at City Hall, The Philadelphia Art Museum, and Shofuso, a Japanese House and Garden where Chris’ mom volunteers on the regular. And what Pennsylvania wedding is complete without a pit stop at Wawa?
